I really wanted to like this place but I just couldn't. Ordered the beef bugogi and it looked like the filing from a Philly cheese steak without the cheese and tasted horrible. Got a side fried scallops; bland and over priced for what they were. I would have been better off going to the Japanese fast food joint in the mall. Spent 68 bucks because I ordered the same stuff for my wife as well and neither of us could finish it. Ended up just eating a bowl of Spaghetti-Os. The only reason I gave them any stars was because I enjoyed the sushi. I got the "Avalanche 2" and it was very good. Go for the sushi, but that's it.

First time, food was great and was ready pretty quick. Will be back. Only 4 because I've only tried one thing and menu was limited.

Good every day sushi. FOOD: Stick to the basics, nothing outstanding but good quality. Miso: Tofu and green onions check Sushi: Fresh (as fresh as you can expect in a landlocked state) and most of the basic staples. Surprisingly good lemon roll. Bento & kids: Yummy and good portions. Tempura - crisp and golden. Teriyaki - tender. Salad - iceberg but with decent dressing. First impression: Clean and modern, very busy during lunch hour (Fort Carson lunch hour: 11:30am to 1:00pm) Happy Hour with discounted prices after 2:30pm. Bathroom : clean Overall: Go to sushi place for a quick fix.

I might be bias because of its proximity to my work and the convenience factor, but I'm a fan. It's not the most amazing sushi I've ever had, but we're not on the west coast. For Colorado, it's pretty good sushi. Plus they have an incredible lunch special.

Sushi Ai or "Sushi Love" roughly translated in Japanese seems to be one of the more popular sushi restaurants in The Springs, I stopped in for the lunch special, Sushi Combo soup & salad. The restaurant itself is smaller with only about a dozen tables and the sushi bar on the right when you enter the restaurant. The lunch crowd was mostly military folks from the nearby bases but, wasn't overwhelming or too crowded for the smaller venue. The service was friendly and accommodating from the two servers that were working the busier lunch crowd. The miso soup wasn't very hot but, had sufficient tofu and scallions along with the chilled salad that had more salad ends that really should be in a salad! The sushi combo came with 8 mixed nigiri pieces and a choice of either a Tuna or Spicy Tuna roll. Overall the restaurant is a solid choice for a quick bite to eat but, lacks anything special that makes it a destination spot.

Awesome food. Great sushi for the price. Good pot stickers and nice staff. I am very pleased and impressed.

Friendly staff, very laid back with great food. Fast service and quiet but not so quiet you feel like you should whisper. I will be going back for sure.

Update: Still a fan of Sushi Ai. Since last visit, large sake price went up to $6. Both chefs now wear plastic gloves, which I like.

This is by far our favorite sushi place, and we have tried a few. My favorites are the Lemon roll and the California Roll! We will definitely continue to come here! As a matter of fact we are going to order some now!

Fair food, average service. Nothing spectacular. Waitress was unaccomodating when asked about a simple menu substitution. Not very friendly either.

This is a small, however hands down one of the best sushi bars in Colorado Springs. Tucked away in the shopping area near the Safeway at S Academy and Hwy 115. Great lunch specials reasonably priced. Their rolls are unique and out of this world! Quick service and a great time. Highly recommended and would enjoy their place for sushi anytime!!

So.... I'm not entirely sure how I found this place but it sure surprised me... I was expecting some average tasting sushi (not entirely sure how to explain what that would taste like) but I eat a lot of sushi so yeeeaaaaahh.. Anyway I got the volcano roll which blew my mind lol it was different but a really good different... they won't even tell me what sauce they used.. and on the menue... it says "secret sauce" hahaha... I didn't aee that part until after I ate the roll.. Go eat.. its good..

Cute little sushi place off of Academy (by Safeway). I got the Marilyn Monroe roll, my hubby got the Avalanche 1 roll (fried). Both rolls were prepared with skill and care, and the waitstaff was great! Food was delicious and we left very satisfied. Great place. Will return.

My first experience with sushi, was really good. I went here to meet some old friends and they were craving sushi. I was a bit hesitant to order but when I saw the menu it was really easy to read, simple and on to the point. I ordered the crispy Sushi roll which had white fish, tuna and avocado. After waiting a bit (orders are made to order) it came in and it was delicious! Just perfect bite of deliciousness. I will probably go again before my work trips ends. That good :)

Moved here recently from the west coast, so we love sushi. This place has definitely satisfied our cravings! Always have had fresh fish, and their specials keep things interesting if you're looking to try something different. Prices are good. Soup and salad is great. Only wish they had a wider variety of teas.

This one is okay. The one off Powers has way better atmosphere, better service and waaaay better food. Which seems weird. But it's close and they have a certain roll I like. I wouldn't go in the winter time because when anyone comes in or out the cold rushes in and you'll have to leave on your coat-!!! It's a bit small.... I will still go because of it's conveinance.

Not to be confused with AI Sushi Bar & Grill, this is a smaller and completely different place located near Ft. Carson. My daughter and I love it! It's clean, stylish, and the sushi chefs are friendly and interact with the costumers. Try the Marilyn Monroe Roll and the Gyoza Fried Potstickers or Steamed Shrimp Dumpling Thingys (?)

I'm originally from Maryland. Some of the best Seafood in the US. Sushi AI is the best sushi place I've been to in the Springs. It's fresh and a great environment. Spicy crunchy,Philadelphia roll, TNT, Marylyn monroe, are just some great suggestions.

Food is good here. Small dining area. From a 1-10, I'll give it a 6. Good for a quick lunch time stop.

The food was amazing! We had the firecracker appetizer, spicy tuna roll, volcano roll and an unagi hand roll. We had never had a volcano roll before but decided to try it based on another Yelp review that said it was amazing. So glad we tried it! It's now a new fave! We will definitely be back again! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the crabby older waitress. She just brought the check without asking if we wanted anything else. I wanted to try the tempura cheesecake :( maybe next time

Very disappointing bento box- teriyaki salmon was tiny, salad was bagged iceberg with thousand island, and the tuna sashimi tasted a bit old.

I know authentic Japanese food considering I grew up with my aunt and cuz who are Japanese and been to Japan several times. The food here is ok for Korean chefs. Waitresses are friendly. You must try their deep fried cheese cake, it is awesome!

We live in the neighborhood and fequently dine at this restaurant. The sushi is always fresh and tasty and the service is fast. The restaurant isn't exceptional, but it is good. I wouldn't drive out of my way to get here, but if you live nearby this is a great little place to go eat.

Got some specialty sushi the other day for takeout. It was great! Flavorful and filling. It came well presented too. The only thing that stopped me from giving this place a 5 outta 5 if the women that works at the counter. I went in there once for a menu and both times I was there she just wasn't very welcoming. I almost felt like I was doing something wrong sitting there waiting for my food. Besides the uneasy atmosphere, the food was delicious and the "sushi chefs" were fun to watch.

Not the best sushi I've had nor the worst. It's hit or miss with this place. Sometimes I've had excellent service and good enough sushi, other times not so much. Up to you where you'd want to spend your money's worth...

Great food but small menu to choose from and the place is small. They have a large choice of sushi to pick from.

In the sea of sushi joints in the Springs, this one barely stays afloat. If you live down south, consider yourself lucky to have a decent sushi joint near you. If you live central/north Springs, there are WAY better options throughout the city. The quality of the fish itself is pretty standard for a regular sushi joint. The rolls are unimaginative. The service is standard. If you want to throw some regular sushi down your gullet, this is your place. If you want to feel like your money was well-spent, it's time to research better sushi options in the Springs.

Ambiance: Nice, but nothing out of the ordinary in terms of atmosphere. Place appears clean. Small sushi bar - maybe eight seats, and about a dozen or so tables. Located in a newer strip mall on the extreme Southwest corner of town, near Fort Carson. Service: Friendly and attentive, until time for bill to come, then had to flag waitress down after a long wait. Food: Can't complain, but can't rave either. I judge a sushi bar, not by their rolls, but by the quality and freshness of the sushi-grade fish used on the nigiri pieces. It was decent enough, with the himachi being nice and buttery in flavor. Their rolls disappoint though. I ordered an unagi roll that completely fell apart - very poorly constructed. Overall, I guess I was satisfied, though not overly excited. Pretty average. An ok spot if in the area, but not worth the drive if you don't live or work in that part of town.

We actually heard good reviews about this place. It's really close to Carson so it's also convenient. And I had read some good reviews about it here on Yelp.....but I don't think I'm coming back here again. My husband and I ordered sushi to go one night. We ordered the Volcano Roll, Spider Roll, Shrimp Tempura Roll, and Rainbow Roll. Everything was well over $50.00 not including tip. You figure if you're going to spend over $50 for sushi, if you ask for extra pickled Ginger you would get it...well, we got enough pickled ginger for a small child, it was laughable. You know when sushi is badly made when you go to pick it up and it falls apart before it even leaves the plate. My Volcano Roll was like no other I've ever had, normally, they are a simple California Roll, with spicey mayo, roe, and scallops mixed together, spead over top and put in the broiler. Mine was made with a yellow tangy sauce and scallops spread over and goopy like. It didn't taste good either, we actually had to throw it out. Myhusband said there wasn't even any shrimp in two of the bites he took from his tempura roll. How LAME. We're not coming here anymore.

We love this place. Fish is always fresh, service prompt and friendly, and the Chicken Teriyaki always cooked perfectly. We go here often and have never had a bad experience. Pretty routine sushi, but always good and good for the price.

So I feel guilty writing this review because I usually only go to Sushi Ring. But I had to stop in since I was shopping at the local tactical store next door. The restaraunt was suprisingly decent. Their specials and lunch deals were excellent. I dined on a spicy Tuna roll and some of their Blue Fin tuna which is the platinum of Tuna. I was impressed with the quality of the sushi but it lacked anything of a personal experience, which I am not always opposed to but it definatley felt cold as far as feeling welcome. With a very short experience I have to say that I paid 22$ after a tip for one Spicy Tuna roll, two pieces of yellowtail and two pieces of Blue Fin. I pay 25 after tip at Sushi Ring for a much larger portion of sushi. Would I go back? yeah If I wanted to pay full price for sushi just as good as a place which charges half as much. The personality wasn't there and the different creations didn't exist. Thanks Ai but no thanks.

So far this is my favorite Sushi place in town. The food is comparable to Jun on Centennial Blvd. the service is great. this is why I like it here so much. They combine good food and service, something other places in town cannot seem to do.

It's ok, but nothing great. For the price, you can find much better sushi. The crab is imitation and the miso soup barely had any tofu or green onions and no seaweed. When we ordered takeout they didn't give us any wasabi or ginger and barely any soy sauce. I'd rather go to Fujyama any day. Don't think I'll go back.

Whoever said Colorado doesn't have good sushi has never been to Sushi Ai. Coming from a coastal state, I was absolutely blown away by the freshness of the ingredients and sushi-making artistry. It was as good, if not better, than the sushi I ate in Connecticut. I ordered the Funky Roll (as recommended to me by our super helpful waitress) which contained shrimp tempura and crab meat and was topped with tuna, salmon, eel, crab meat, masago, and sweet soy sauce. Although I was initially hesitant to pay $12.50 for a single roll, it was worth every penny. Absolutely incredible--you could tell that the chefs are passionate about sushi making and really put the extra effort into small details. Light years better than Fujiyama, whose prices are actually higher!

The fish was excellent and the rolls and presentation exceeded our expectations. Sometimes you may assume that a small restaurant within a strip mall may not be first class but we found this to be a hidden gem. Very friendly service and well made rolls. We are coming back every time we are in CO Springs!

Susi Ai is my favorite restaurant in Colorado Springs. The Ai Bowl is delicious and reasonably priced. The salmon sashimi is awesome. Look, you are not going to get California-quality sushi in Colorado, but this comes pretty darn close. One warning: It can get really busy during lunchtime on weekdays. If you arrive between 12 noon and 1 pm, be prepared to wait for a seat.

Better than I expected, but nothing really special. Ordered their seaweed salad, caterpillar roll and my date had the deluxe. I was excited about trying all the sashimi, but I can tell that the food wasn't fresh. It wasn't old either. The texutre of the fish was a bit chewy and just wasn't up to par. Service was ok. Rolls were substandard. Would eat here again if I didn't have a choice.

We used to be regulars here and everything was wonderful, but then we moved. We've been back to visit since then and found a complete turn-over of staff - maybe change of ownership, too? Not sure, but the service nor the food were really the same anymore - hence the three star rating.

Sushi in Colorado, a little odd I know. However, we gave them a shot, and thank goodness we did! Everyone raved about the sushi. We had the AI roll, Philly roll w/tuna instead of salmon and I can't remember the other roll. I was a little leery of the spicy tuna, it looked a little different than the tuna I've had. Everything was so good and really well prepared. Prices were pretty comparable to California sushi, nice to see they don't hike the prices up just because.

I've been there several times for both lunch and dinner. Every meal has been outstanding, wonderful service, delicious sushi, and a comfortable setting. Prices are great for lunch and reasonable for dinner. The sushi is superior to any I've had in town.
